FALLEN ADAMS COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPUTY MICHAEL SHANNON
Deputy Shannon Started his law enforcement career with the Town of Rome Police Department in 1992. He was hired as a dispatcher for the Adams County Sheriff's Department in 1995 and then promoted to patrol officer in 2000. Deputy Shannon lost his life after responding to a house where the homeowner threatened a highway work crew with a rifle. He and his brother, Tim, patrolled on the same shift at the time of Mikes death.
Michael E. Shannon was known to his family and friends as Mike, Mikee, and Junior. He was a man who loved people and did anything he could for them. He also loved hunting, fishing, bowling, snowmobiling, and watching NASCAR racing. Mike's true passion was being a police officer. He is greatly missed by his parents, Patti and Mick, sister Stefanie, and brother Tim at the time of Mikes death.
